I. Definition
Anxiety is a physiological and psychological state of emotional and behavior problems caused by the nervous system under stress. This creates an unpleasant feeling which is typically associated with uneasiness, fear, and worrying.

II. How anxiety effects women with endometriosis
Anxiety is caused by high levels of estrogen and low levels of progesterone during menstrual cycle, it triggers the symptoms of:
1. Dry mouth
Endometriosis menstrual cramps increase the stress caused by abnormal functions of the liver in carbohydrate metabolism resulting in higher than normal blood sugar in the bloodstream triggering thirst and dry mouth.

2. Sweating
Sweating is a natural reaction of our body when it is under constant stress, due to production of certain hormones in the brain caused by the body preparing the organism to deal with a threat.

3. Irregular heart beat
When the nervous system is under stress, it produces hormones that causes high blood pressure and hardening of the arteries resulting in irregular heart beat.

4. Digestive system
Anxiety increases the over-production of hormones that regulate the digestive muscle leading to stomach cramps.

5. Dizziness
If the body is constantly under stress, it may cause increased blood pressure and lessening the blood flow to the brain triggering dizziness. It may cause low levels of oxygen as a result of heavy blood loss during menstruation.

6. Sleeplessness
Insomnia is a common symptom for women with endometriosis caused by tension of overactive brain cells as a result of hormone imbalance during menstrual cycle or menstrual cramps.
